Analysis of business, tech, and the business of tech.

Welcome to Wreflection!

My essays are typically theories, frameworks, and analysis at the intersection of business, tech, and strategy. These are based on my past experiences building tech products as well as my examination of the ideas, strategy, tactics, news, and policies that are shaping business and tech.

Please consider subscribing to get, a couple of times a month, my original essays, commentary on news and events shaping business and tech, and a curated selection of thought-provoking links of articles, videos, podcasts, and interviews and why they’re worth your time. I generally write about:

  1. Tech Analysis - Making sense of Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, Platforms, Marketplaces, and whatever technology is changing our world. And specifically what it means for business.

  2. Business Strategy - Why do some win while others fail. What trade-offs shape product, pricing, and market dynamics?

  3. Product Lessons - Stories from past experiences building and scaling products. Lessons from leading tech teams. Recent experiments, successes, and failures. What works, what doesn't?

  4. Personal (W)reflection - Occasional essays about things in my life and other interests.

Who It’s For

People who work in tech, invest in tech companies, build products, or want a deeper understanding of business and tech. Readers who prefer logic over hype, and facts over feelings.

About Me

I am an electrical engineer by training, with a masters in business. I most recently spent 10 years at Amazon building warehouse robots, and launching new marketplace categories, and software and hardware products.

You can also find me on X.com or LinkedIn discussing tech and business trends as they happen.

Disclosure

I hold a significant personal position in Amazon stock. Given my experience at the company, I expect to opine about Amazon often; but all opinions are my own and do not represent the views of Amazon or its management. Data and information will never represent confidential Amazon information.

I also hold broad market investments through 401(k), IRA, and index funds in which I don’t exercise individual stock selection. I am not compensated by any company for views expressed; these are my personal views and based on publicly available information, unless explicitly stated.
